Served up hot every morning for free along with tea and cookies. Feel free to grab what you need before and after the service!
Come as you are! While most people wear jeans (or shorts), others choose to dress a bit more formally. Honestly, we want you … to be you; so wear what’s comfortable.
Our worship band leads our worship on Sunday with a full band, including drums, keyboards, guitars and sometimes more! You may hear songs you recognize from Christian radio from artists like All Sons and Daughters, Hillsong, and Passion.
Each week you’ll find that you’re not the only one walking into a church for the first time, so you’re not alone. We make it our priority to communicate the Christian message in a way that doesn’t assume you are an expert in reading the Bible. In fact, for many in our community, Walker Harbor is their first church. We also don’t shy away from actually learning, and growing and engaging challenging conversations. In other words, you don’t have to have any previous church experience, but we also don’t expect you to shut off your brain either.
We have a number of opportunities to serve – both within our church and in our community. Send an email to email@example.com.
We understand how easy it is to come to church and get “lost” in the mix. We don’t want that to happen to you! We recommend three things if you desire to see Walker Harbor Church become “your” church.
- Come: While we realize there are a lot of things that compete for your Sunday mornings, if you really want to feel connected, a regular commitment to coming on Sundays is the best first step.
- Connect: We encourage everyone to become connected to other people. Throughout the year, we have new opportunities for you to get connected through ministry teams, discipleship huddles, discover and partnership classes and more. Just look for the next opportunity and jump in.
- Serve: We are always looking for new team members – and would love to plug you in!
We are part of a family of churches started originally out of Fair Haven Ministries and has now become a multi-site church called Harbor Churches. We have campuses in Grandville, Byron Center, Jamestown, Walker, and Hudsonville. We are all led by our Senior Pastor, Tom Elenbaas and are all committed to the same mission of … helping people find their way back to God. Though each of our locations is a unique expression of that mission in their local communities, all are part of the same church with the same mission.
A multi-site church is a single church that has multiple congregations on multiple sites. Our “family of churches” currently has five locations in Byron Center, Grandville, Hudsonville, Walker, and Jamestown. Click here to find directions to these sites. You can find out more about Multi-Site churches here.
While we share the core theology, convictions and mission of the Reformed Church of America (RCA). We encourage you to check out the RCA website to learn more about our beliefs and practices, but don’t worry if that’s not what you are familiar with. Many people in our community did not grow up in our denomination. In fact, we have a wide range of different backgrounds and denominations. There is space for you to belong here, even if you’re not sure you believe the same things.
